saltwater taffy. pink stucco. late afternoon breakfasts at kate's kitchen. summer fog. champagne and lemon cake. thrift shopping and pac-man sheets. forgetting about the crazy movie car chase hills and all the secret tourist spots that i love. gabby making me buy fashion editor barbie as a good luck charm. being forced to watch hipster porn music videos at a party, which is what i get for talking about it. science and france. vanity. cheerleaders for crack. forgetting about cute indie kids cause there aren't any in new york. bad advice from good friends. mod gossip. the neoprints that got lost somewhere between japantown, cocktails at the casanova with leenda karina and z, toy shopping, burritos, and the mad dash home to watch 'bands on the run' on vh1. my favorite eternally cold foggy beach with the best photobooth of all time and secret sidestreets full of run down candy colored surfer bungalows, which is exactly where i'm gonna live if i can't get this whole expatriate business figured out soon (beach house anyone?), which reminds me that my self-imposed '3 months to get the hell out of the country' deadline (decided over cotton candy, bare feet dangling off the edge of the brighton beach boardwalk in the middle of winter, and the sounds of eurodisco and carnival rides in the background..) is coming up in like 2 weeks and it looks i'm definitely gonna have to scrap my halfway booked plane tickets, cause i've got international houseguests coming to new york in 3 weeks, and it would be awfully tragic if they got here just as i left, plus i've barely saved up enough money, don't have anything even remotely resembling a place to live, or the slightest idea how to find a source of income. hmmm, go me!! not that any of that ever stopped me from moving before, but still...
that said though, potential art patrons, international boyfriends and kids with crafty overseas housing and employment solutions or get-rich-quick schemes should still get in touch right away...
